for the project "artists are self directed" I choose to do spray paint as my medium because it's my favorite form of art. I was messing around with the colors and then decieded "hey I think this sucks so what if I scrape it with a roll of tape. Well it created a really cool pattern in certain places. So I covered those parts with circles and blacked out everything else creating planets. Then I added some blue to look like Stars and I was finished
for the second unit, which I don't know what it was, but I did this, I decieded I wanted to make a spin off of a cool picture I saw. I melted crayons and used a hair dryer to spread the melted wax around. After I finished, I made stamps of the wax on other boards and ended up with some cool designs
this project technically falls under the "essential questions" unit, but since I stopped my original "7 of hearts perspective" thing, this is what I have. This is so far my favorite art work I've done. I watched some YouTube videos on spray paint art and I used those techniques to make this. Everything on here was done with spray paint and I think that's really cool
The first part you need is a plain black shirt, and a picture of playing cards. First step is to cut out the black around the cards using quick select tool. Then you place the two cards over the center of the shirt. It should look like the picture below.
Next step is adding the wings. TO do that u need a picture of wings that are on fire, or not its up to you. you then take the wings and put that layer behind the card layer. It should make it look like the wings are coming out the back of the cards. it should like this
Step 3: Custom Brush Weve already learned how to do a custom brush, so in this step i just added a swirl pattern and made it a brush preset. my nw brush looked like this.
the next step is adding layers of brushes to the bottom of the cards adding a cool touch to the shirt and making it a little personal. i used the new custom brush and a few others to make it look unique.
THe Last step is just doing a little bit of touch ups and adding some more brush designs, giving you a final product that looks like this
My favorite project that I did in this class would be the Frozen parody picture that i did for the 12 days of photoshop. I felt like it turned out really well and was high quality. My idea for the project was to power swap ice with fire, like an ironic twist on the story. I learned some new features while doing this like using saturation to change the color, and the erasing the parts u want to keep the same like her skin and eyes. I used this photo for the Thing we did on the last day before break and it felt good when people actually thought it was good.
Question 1: I feel like this class has given me a great grasp on the photoshop program. Coming into the class I had only used photoshop a handful of times. Through out the course I was able to become more fluent at the tools, while still managing to learn somthing new about the program every day. By the end of this course I feel as though I can still improve, but I've been given the basics on a great program, Photoshop
